Biography

Tom is a full-time registered mediator in Georgia. Before dedicating his legal work to mediation, Tom practiced as a trial lawyer for over 25 years in civil litigation. Most recently, Tom was a partner with an Atlanta-based boutique law firm specializing in medical malpractice and products liability. Previously, he practiced 12 years with one of the largest international law firms in the United States in its products liability and business litigation groups. While in private practice, Tom chaired his firm’s Product Liability Practice Group and focused his legal work on complex medical malpractice, products liability, and other personal injury litigation. Tom built a reputation for hard work, creative thinking, and advocating for his clients in a diligent and professional manner.

Tom’s products liability background includes single-plaintiff and mass tort litigation, including experience with FDA-regulated products, such as pharmaceuticals and medical devices, as well as experience with automotive, hand and power tools, and consumer products. As for his healthcare practice, Tom’s experience ranges from allegations of professional negligence against physicians and nurses, institutional claims against hospitals, as well as long term care litigation. Tom also has significant experience in general personal injury litigation spanning automotive litigation to premises liability litigation.

Tom has tried cases all over Georgia and has been inducted into the American Board of Trial Advocates, which requires a minimum number of jury trials for membership. He is an AV Preeminent-rated lawyer and has been selected as either a Georgia Super Lawyer or Georgia Rising Star every year since 2005, and selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America continuously since 2010.

A native of Atlanta, Tom graduated from Marist High School, where he met his wife Jennifer. They have three grown children together.
