Travel Policy

Hearings outside metro Atlanta area - $200.00 per hour for travel time; plus customary travel expenses including, but not limited to airfare, mileage, car rental, lodging and meals.

Seven hour minimum for all cases outside of metro Atlanta.

Arbitration Cancellation / Reschedule Policy

If an arbitration must be cancelled or rescheduled 30 DAYS OR LESS BEFORE THE HEARING, as indicated by Henning Mediation’s confirmation letter, a fee equal to EIGHT (8) hours/day will be charged.

All requests for cancellation must be received in writing, preferably via email to donna@henningmediation.com.

Biography

David Zacks gets results. He believes in early intervention. He specializes in resolving disputes using mediation techniques he has learned and developed over the past 45 years as a veteran trial lawyer and a neutral.

The Best Lawyers in America named him “Atlanta Lawyer of the Year” in Mediation, and have recognized him consecutively since 1991.

Experience

  • Mediating/arbitrating cases for 20 years.
  • Founder, President of Zacks Resolution, and early advocate of mediation starting in 1990s.
  • Has defended international companies in "bet the company" cases, and served as lead counsel for plaintiffs in multi-million dollar catastrophic injury and wrongful death cases.
  • Served as principal negotiator on behalf of 500,000 Native Americans during a critical phase of the litigation of Cobell, et al v. Secretary of Interior, et al. that resolved in 2012. Case was settled for $3.4 billion and other considerations.
  • Earlier experience includes serving as a Captain and Certified Military Judge in the Judge Advocate General's Corps of the U.S. Army. Successfully defended a captain in a My Lai related trial.
